The Agriwatch Agri Commodities Index rose 0.63% to a new 12-month high of 108.74 during the week ended Apr 16, 2016 from 108.06 during the previous week. The base for the Index is 2014 (= 100).
Higher pulses and cotton prices led the Index higher this week. The Pulses Index gained 3.2% w-o-w and the Fibres Index, led by cotton, gained 4.91%.
The Other Non-Food Articles Index led by rubber was the other big gainer, rising 6.72% w-o-w.
Other weekly gainers were the Cereals Index (+0.30%), Vegetables Index (+0.56%) and Oilseeds Index (+0.74%).
The weekly decliners were the Condiments & Spices Index (-1.05%), Edible Oils Index (-0.27%) and the Sweeteners (Sugar, Gur, Khandsari) Index (-0.86%).
