Agriwatch.com is brought to you by Indian Agribusiness Systems Pvt. Ltd. (IASL), a company started by a group of young technocrats and trade professionals who have had a long association (cumulatively more than 150 years) with the Indian Agribusiness Sector.

The agribusiness sector is characterized by multi layered channels on the Agricultural Input and Output side, poor quality of information and analysis about Demand, Supply, Prices, Market Trends for various agri-commodities. The promoters of this organization, coming from an Agricultural background felt the need to address these anomalies in this sector and therefore have come together to create a professional team and an organization to deliver value to the participants at all the levels in this sector.


Objectives:

The Company primarily aims at filling out the information and communication gap that exists in various sub-sectors of the Agricultural Economy in general and Agricultural Commodities trade in particular. For achieving this, the Company is making use of the latest developments in information technology. The ultimate objective of the Company is to reach the highest level of sophistication in the Agribusiness sector so as to achieve a perfect flow of information, analyses, communication and e-commerce.

The specific objectives of the Company are as follows:

  1. Information-enable various participants in the Agribusiness sector such as the farmers, Traders, Processors of Agricultural Outputs, Suppliers of Agricultural Inputs etc. by providing latest and accurate information.
  2. Provide valuable analyses to the trade participants that will enhance their decision taking abilities in trade.
  3. To enable E-commerce in Agricultural products through this vertical portal.
N V Ramana

3. Experience: Mr. N V Ramana is a senior consultant advisor in the development and agribusiness space. He is also a Chairman on the board of Indian Society of Agribusiness Professionals and serves as Board member on a number of companies in the Livelihoods Development and Financial & Investment Advisory sectors. He held the office of Group CEO at BASIX Group of Companies India between 2006 and 2008; served as Managing Director of multiple group companies during his time with the group from 2001 to 2008. He began his career with the Agri Business division of the ITC group of companies and served there in various capacities for two decades.
Sunil Khairnar
1. Multi-disciplinary management professional with 16 years experience.
  • Qualifications: PGDM from IIM Ahmedabad, B. Tech (Agri Engineering) from College of Agricultural Engg, MPAU

  • Agriculture, ICT projects evaluation, Food products, Impact Assessment for not for profit initiatives, Economic Impact Assessment, Need assessment.

  • Agri commodity trader with Cargill Inc. for 2 years, Ran feed mill operations in southern India for Godrej group for 5 years.
4. Key sectors worked in:
  • Agri commodities, Edible oil, Dairy, Poultry, Animal feed, livestock, ICT in Agriculture, rural technologies.
5. Membership in Professional Societies:
  • All India Management Association, New Delhi

She is a Co-founder of Movico Technologies, a company that works on mobile technologies especially remote access, video/audio streaming and VAS.
Sachin Mardikar

    • Experience: Over 14 years in Corporate sector (Merind Ltd), Consulting (Deloittee Touche Tohmatsu) in Mumbai and own consulting practice
    • Over a decade's experience in Training, consulting and research to corporate, donors, government and non profit sector Trained over 5,000 professionals in diverse areas such as Livelihoods promotion, Strategy development and Change Management across 14 states in India and overseas
    • Business development, Concept development, client/donor interface, project design and developing operational structure for delivery
      • Understanding and Knowledge of Micro Finance and Rural Livelihoods, supply chain, subs sector and value chain analysis
      • Combination of skills in Finance, Strategy and General management

Bhaskar Natarajan

  2. Strong knowledge of hedging, risk-management and procurement strategies in commodities.


  3. Nearly 5 years experience trading futures & options on US equities.


  4. Nearly 3 years experience trading F&O in Nifty and individual stock futures & options in India.


  5. Over 8 years experience in the US in various roles from software programmer to software technical architect, at Computer Sciences Corporation, USA, one of the largest systems-integrators in the world.


  6. Conceived, designed and operationalized several publications including the “Agriwatch Commodity Weekly”, the “Indian Commodity Market Report” (ICMR) - a monthly report published by MCX and “Commodity Canvas” a fortnightly magazine on commodities and the futures markets.


  7. Also train and monitor all analysts in their understanding of futures markets, arbitrage, hedging, contract rollovers, open interest and trading strategies. Being the resident expert in technical analysis, train members of the technical analysis teams on chart reading and interpretation of patterns.


  8. Responsible for delivery of all custom research projects for corporates.

At AgriWatch, Bhaskar is the head of products. He designs tailored research content for the customers, who vary from trader to the biggest of the corprotes, uses a lot of quantitative tools to create these products.
He has been with AW for over 4 years.

Pankaj Agarwal

    • B.Tech. - Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi, India


  2. Professional Experience:
    • 11 years of International experience (USA, Singapore, India) in various functional areas including
      • Information Technology, Software Development, Operations, Events Management, Publishing, Research, Marketing and Business Development at various Management level positions with technology companies dealing in Agribusiness, Wireless Broadband Products and FMCG.


  3. Research Publications:
    •   Research Paper titled “Use of Virtual Objects in Traffic Simulation” published in the Proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Applications of Advanced Technologies in Transportation Engineering, Center for Transportation Research, National University of Singapore (2000).
    •   Research Paper titled “An Object-Oriented Traffic Simulation Model for Intersection Signal Control” published in the Proceedings of The Fifth International Conference on The Application of Artificial Intelligence to Civil and Structural Engineering held at Oxford, England (1999).
