Tamil Nadu Govt Would Provide Subsidy For Farmers For Crop Value Addition

Water shortage for standing crops is hampering TamilNadu farmers to avoid crops that need much water from sowing to maturity statges.Having this problem in mind and help farmers the  State Agriculture Department has initiated many measures by providing incentives and technological assistance  for state farmers.Under the Mission for Sustainable Dryland Agriculture (MSDA), efforts are on to set up 50 value addition units across 25 districts in the State.Farmers  would receive 75 %  subsidy up to the level of 10 lakh.The rest will be managed by farmers.Through this mission value addition  is aimed to ensure better price for farmers for  the crops that grows in less water .
