Government procurement of wheat crosses 341.77 lakh tonnes, 35 percent more than last year.

Food Corporation of India, FCI has procured 341.77 lakh tonnes of wheat from mandis across the country till 10 May 2021 at MSP in the current Rabi marketing season 2021-22, up from 352.35 million tonnes of 252.50 lakh tonnes in the same period of the last Rabi season. Percentage is high.
 
According to the Food Ministry, Punjab accounted for 129.35 lakh tonnes of the total procurement in the current Rabi so far, while 114.90 lakh tonnes of wheat was procured from the state in the same period of the last Rabi season.
 
In Haryana, 80.80 lakh tonnes of wheat has been procured in the current Rabi and 97.54 lakh tonnes of wheat from Madhya Pradesh, while only 57.64 lakh tonnes and 63.66 lakh tonnes were procured from these states in the same period of the last Rabi season.
 
In other states, 11.68 lakh tonnes of wheat has been procured in the current rabi so far from Rajasthan, 20.45 lakh tonnes of wheat from Uttar Pradesh at MSP, while 3.99 and 11.84 lakh tonnes of wheat were purchased from these states respectively in the same period of the last Rabi season. Was.
 
48,891 tonnes of rabi from Gujarat, 87,089 tonnes from Uttarakhand, 16,907 tonnes from Chandigarh, 28,006 tonnes from Bihar, 4,214 tonnes from Delhi, 3,437 tonnes from Himachal Pradesh and 4,146 tonnes from Jammu and Kashmir.
 
The Central Government has fixed the minimum support price of wheat at Rs 1,975 per quintal in the current Rabi, while the MSP in the previous Rabi was Rs 1,925 per quintal.
