Higher production expectations put cap on Cardamom prices

An expectations of increasing production in the current marketing year, Cardamom buyers are inactive in the spot market at higher prices levels. Second round picking activity is going on in Kerala growing regions, it will finish till October end. Third round picking activity likely to start from mid November.             
                                                              
Agriwatch estimates, India’s production for the current marketing year 2021-22 (which was started from 1st August officially) expected around 30,000 MT put the cap on prices. Last year production was around 23,000 MT.
 
As on 19th October, Cardamom prices moving at Rs.1,081/-kg as compared to last year same period Rs.1,441/- Kg.
