India's Rice Export is Likely to Up in this MY-2020-21, Due to Competitive Prices

Strong export demand of non-Basmati rice through the end of MY 2020-21 (Sept-2021) would lead the exports to reach 13-13.5 million metric tons. Despite the INR value appreciating over the last few weeks, it indicates that Indian rice continue to remain competitive in international market. Assuming continued price parity of Indian rice with the rice from other producing countries along with strong export demand, we forecast India’s rice exports in MY 2020-2021 at 13.5 MMT against 12.6 MMT last year. Considering high domestic demand and export demand, rice price is expected to gain momentum. Indian rice is very much liked in Gulf countries like UAE, Dubai, Yemen Iraq etc. and shipment is to be done in these countries in the coming month too. Due to the corona virus disease, many countries are forced to make huge stocks of food.
