Red Chilli prices reported down at Guntur spot market

As we expected earlier, red chilli prices reported down today at Guntur market by 6% - 11% depend on variety due to lower demand at higher levels. Expected higher production in coming marketing year is the main reason for prices correction. New crop supply slowly started with lower quantity and moisture quality, however good quality expected to start from January onwards. Agriwatch first estimates, Red Chilli all India production for 2021-22 is estimated at 13.84 lakh MT. Last year’s production was 12.32 lakh MT. 
 
At Guntur market , Red Chilli NCDEX Quality started the day weak at Rs. 11500-12000 per quintal, lower by 11.11 per cent from previous trading day. Estimated market supply was at 60000 Bags, higher by 10000 Bags as compared to previous day.
 
Red Chilli LCA 334 began lower at Rs. 12000-13000 per quintal, down by 10.34 per cent against previous trading day. Red Chilli Teja at Guntur market started lower at Rs. 14000-15500 per quintal, lower by 6.06 per cent as against previous day. Red Chilli No.273 at Guntur market started lower at Rs. 14000-15000 per quintal, down by 6.25 per cent from previous day's price level.
