Import of maize and other suitable grains to Sri Lanka

The choice to import 25,000 metric tonnes of maize or other suitable grains for making animal feed has been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers in Sri Lanka. The cost of eggs may increase by up to 75 rupees due to the fact that maize, which is needed to produce poultry, is currently being sold at a premium price. As a result, the price of animal feed has increased, there is a possibility that egg prices will increase. Also, it now costs 48 rupees to produce one egg and that selling eggs for the specified price had drawbacks.
