Direct seeded rice sustains less damage despite heavy rains!!

In Karnal, the dwarf disease has had less of an impact on both early and late sown varieties of basmati and non-basmati direct seeded rice (DSR), which has exhibited less lodging in the most recent heavy rains.

Strong rains from September 20 to 25 have flattened and lodged a significant area of paddy and caused significant losses in grain output and discoloration, which would further result in low pricing for farmers. Variety PB-1509 and PR-126 from the early maturity group suffered greatly as a result of the lodging.
