About 50% ginning units of closed their operation in Nimar, Madhya Pradesh.

As per the Madhya Pradesh Association of Cotton Processors and Traders, about 50 percent of ginning units have closed their operation due to the unavailability of raw cotton, while those operating are getting just 30-40 percent raw cotton against their full capacity.
Daily arrivals of cotton in the spot market at Khargone has reduced to 5,000- 6,000 quintal as against 20,000 quintal in the corresponding period last season. Farmers are holding stock in anticipation of better prices.
