American opposition to Mexico's grain edict is politically driven

As per sources, the United States' quarrel with Mexico over its proposal to restrict the importation of genetically modified corn is "politically driven." A trade dispute tribunal established by a trilateral agreement between the United States, Mexico, and Canada has been threatened because of the proposal to outlaw GM corn for human use.
