According to sources, around 6,125 MT imported Tur has arrived at Chennai port during 1-13 November, 2022. Out of which, 3,375 MT is from Burma, 2,500 MT from Tanzania and 250 MT from Mozambique. Govt. and private agencies are continuously importing Tur to build up the stock amidst apprehensions of crop loss due to rainfall during August to October and pod borer infestation reports in Maharashtra. New Tur crop arrivals have reportedly started in some places of Karnataka while it will come in December in Maharashtra.
