Continuous rainfall in Turmeric growing regions may affect standing crops

In Nizamabad, around 90% to 95% sowing has been completed. In Warangal and nearby Turmeric growing regions, sowing got delayed by 10 to 15 days due to heavy rainfall from past few days. Overall sowing percentage will get cleared after the end of August 2022.
 
In Maharashtra, Sangli, Basmat, Hingoli and Nanded growing regions and in Karnataka overall sowing has been completed due to good irrigation facilities and also received good rainfall during the sowing period. 
 
However, in Maharashtra Marathwada regions heavy rainfall has continued in the last few days in Turmeric key growing areas amid flash flood situations. As per trade sources, around 8% to 10% crop damage has been reported in Turmeric growing regions as the crop is in its initial stage right now. However, actual damage percentage likely to be cleared after 10-15 days.
