As per trade sources, the capacity for corn-based ethanol production in Brazil is expanding as companies invest in increasing their output. The upcoming 2023/2024 season, starting in April, is expected to see a significant surge in production, with six billion litres of corn ethanol being produced, marking a 36.7% increase from the previous season. Despite economic challenges posed by the pandemic and competition from sugar-based alternatives, Brazil's corn ethanol production has continued to grow, driven by the increasing demand for cleaner fuel alternatives in society.
