Government will consider lifting ban on wheat after reviewing crop condition in March-April

On Thursday (12/01/23) DGFT said that the government is likely to make an appropriate decision regarding lifting the ban on Wheat exports near crop harvesting months. A proper review of crop condition and the difference between the supply and demand of crop should be done before the decision. Previously India banned exports in May 2022 to ensure domestic supply. When there will be proper balance felt in the demand and supply of Wheat, needed steps would be taken to allow the exports of Wheat.
