India’s March 2022 Edible Oil Imports Rises 9.82 Percent Y-O-Y: SEA

According to Solvent Extractors Association (SEA), India’s March edible oil imports rose 9.82 percent y-o-y to 10.51 lakh tons from 9.57 lakh tons in March 2021. Palm oil imports irose by 2.47 percent y-o-y to 5.39 lakh tons from 5.26 lakh tons in March 2021. CPO imports fell in March y-o-y to 2.84 lakh tons from 5.06 lakh tons in March 2021. RBD palmolein import stood at 2.51 lakh tons compared to 2,500 tons in March 2021. Soy oil imports on y-o-y stood at 2.99 lakh tons from 2.84 lakh tons in March 2021. Sunflower oil imports, y-o-y in March stood at 2.12 lakh tons from 1.46 lakh tons in March 2021. India is seeing higher imports of RBD palm olein and declining imports of CPO., which is affecting Indian Palm oil refineries.
