International Pepper Scenario

Last week (July 18 - July 22), the world pepper market mainly increased, only Chinese white pepper recorded a decline. Specifically, in South Asia, after 2 weeks of decline, Indian pepper prices stabilized last week. The country's domestic black pepper from 6,077 to 6,095 USD/ton; FOB black pepper price at Kochi port is from 6,329 to 6,345 USD/ton.
 
In Sri Lanka, domestic pepper prices increased in the past week. Domestic black pepper increased 1%, from 4,951 to 4,998 USD/ton.
 
In Southeast Asia, Indonesian pepper prices rose this week as supplies from farmers remained tight. Specifically, the country's domestic black pepper increased by 2%, from 2,935 to 3,000 USD/ton; white pepper increased 1%, from 5,304 to 5,366 USD/ton; FOB black pepper price at Lampung port increased by 2%, from 3,508 to 3,582 USD/ton; FOB white pepper price at Pinang port increased 1%, from 6,134 to 6,206 USD/ton.
 
Meanwhile, Malaysian pepper prices in domestic and international markets have been stable since mid-May 2022. Domestic black pepper price from 4,061 to 4,076 USD/ton; domestic white pepper 5,805 – 5,825 USD/ton; FOB black pepper price at Kuching port 5,900 USD/ton for 500g/l; FOB white pepper price at Kuching port is at $7,600/ton.
 
For Vietnamese pepper prices, last week only domestic black pepper increased, while other grades were stable and unchanged. Specifically, the domestic price of black pepper increased by 1%, from 2,944 to 2,962 USD/ton; domestic white pepper remained unchanged at 4,594 USD/ton; FOB black pepper price at HCMC port was stable at 3,650 USD/ton for 500g/l; FOB white pepper price at Ho Chi Minh port remained unchanged at 5,700 USD/ton.
