NAFED mulling to sell chana stocks at discounted rates

National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) is reportedly mulling to sell Chana to the States from its buffer stock at discounted rates. NAFED’s this step would ensure easy supply in the physical markets amidst plenty of stocks with Govt. agencies and local traders and normal demand for dal and resultantly prices will be pressurized more. As per sources, right now, NAFED has around 3.6 million tonne pulses stocks against the buffer stock norm of 2.3 million tonne. Of this, Chana stock is around 2.7 million tonne and out of this, around 0.25 million tonne stock is of last year.
