According to sources, new Tur crop arrivals (early sown) have started in Nilogal village of Bangar Hatti Taluka of Karnataka. Around 50 bags arrived which fetched INR 7,200 per quintal. Yield is pegging between 5-6 quintal per acre. Now, arrival is bound to increase gradually and would be at peak in January. Around 10 to 15% loss has already been reported due to bad weather conditions during July to October in Karnataka. Crop condition in Maharashtra is average to normal despite an early loss due to flooding and excess rains in July-Oct.
