According to IMD, southwest monsoon withdrawal line continues to pass through Jammu, Una, Chandigarh, Karnal, Baghpat, Delhi, Alwar, Jodhpur, Nalia with 6% of excess rainfall. This is the fourth consecutive year that India’s monsoon has been in the ‘normal’ or ‘above normal’ category. East and northeast India witnessed 18% deficiet rainfall, 1% excess rainfall over northwest India, 19% excess over central India and 22% excess over southern peninsula.
A cyclonic circulation lies over West central Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast in lower tropospheric levels. A cyclonic circulation is likely to emerge into northeast and adjoining east central Bay of Bengal around 01st October, 2022.
