Tur Sowing Picks Up in AP

According to the Agriculture Department of Andhra Pradesh recent release, with the picks up of monsoon rains, sowing activities in the State are getting momentum and Tur sowing has been witnessed in 4,000 hectare as of 29th June, 2022, up by 100% from 2,000 hectare same time last year. Sowing target is 2.54 lakh hectare. However, Urad coverage has reduced drastically by 50% to mere 1,000 hectare from 2,000 hectare as on date while there is no report regarding Moong sowing so far. Targeted area under Urad and Moong has been set at 0.40 lakh hectare and 0.16 lakh hectare respectively.
