Pepper prices today (December 21) continued to move sideways in key localities in the country. Currently, the highest purchasing price is 82,000 VND/kg.
 
According to the survey,  pepper price today has  no new changes compared to yesterday. With a price of 79,500 VND/kg, Gia Lai and Dong Nai are currently the two local recording the lowest purchasing prices. The two provinces of Dak Lak and Dak Nong also continued to trade at the same level of 80,500 VND/kg today. Better is Binh Phuoc province with 81,000 VND/kg. Currently, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province still maintains the leading position with the highest price of 82,000 VND/kg.
 
This year's pepper crop in China decreased due to unfavorable weather. As a result, China increased its pepper imports in the first months of 2021, according to the latest report from the Import and Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade). However, the complicated developments of the COVID-19 epidemic caused the country to abruptly reduce imports since June 2021, due to a decrease in demand for spicy food in China and a decrease in the demand of processing companies.
